Spotware, the developer behind the popular multi‑asset trading platform cTrader, has announced the launch of the cTrader WebView Plugins Hackathon. The contest, starting July 16, 2025, invites developers, traders, and tech innovators to build and publish original WebView plugins, with high‑end Apple prizes on offer for the top three entries.
How cTrader WebView Plugins Can Help Prop Traders and Firms
The new WebView plugins bring cross‑platform extensibility to cTrader, allowing custom dashboards, AI assistants, referral widgets, analytics panels, and educational modules to run seamlessly across desktop, web, and mobile.
For prop firms, this opens the door to branded, interactive tools that boost trader engagement and retention. Introducing brokers (IBs) can also create value‑added features to attract and support traders. And for prop traders themselves – especially those with coding skills – the hackathon is a chance to build plugins that directly enhance their trading workflow or even monetize their innovations.
Hackathon Overview: Build, Publish, Win
Participants have until August 31, 2025, to publish plugins in the official cTrader Store. All submissions must pass moderation to be eligible, and winners will be selected by cTrader management based on creativity, functionality, and potential impact.
Prizes:
- 1st Place: Apple MacBook Pro
- 2nd Place: Apple iPad Pro
- 3rd Place: Apple Watch 10
Winners will be announced on September 8, 2025.
“WebView plugins give the cTrader community something they’ve never had before; cross‑platform extensibility with minimal development friction,” said Aleksey Kozlov, General Manager of the cTrader Store. “It’s the perfect opportunity for both established teams and solo developers to contribute to the trading experience and potentially monetize their innovations.”
