Cloudflare began scheduled maintenance at its ORD data center in Chicago today at 07:00 UTC, according to the company’s official update. The company also scheduled maintenance at its DTW data center in Detroit from 09:00 to 13:00 UTC.
During the maintenance window in Chicago, several online services experienced brief disruptions. Some trading-related platforms became temporarily inaccessible before normal service returned. These interruptions lasted only a short time but affected users who attempted to log in during the maintenance period.
Cloudflare noted that the work remains in progress. The company warned that traffic from the Chicago region may reroute through different network paths. Such rerouting may cause slightly higher latency, especially for users in the nearby areas.
Cloudflare also informed PNI and CNI customers to expect possible failovers. Certain network interfaces in the affected data centers may briefly go offline as upgrades continue. The company said it had not observed any incidents outside the planned maintenance.
Even short disruptions can influence trading workflows. Delays during login, data-feed interruptions or slower execution may affect traders, particularly those who rely on time-sensitive strategies. Prop traders who operate during active market hours may feel this impact more strongly.
Cloudflare continues its scheduled maintenance cycle. More brief service changes may occur until all upgrades are complete.
