In a move likely to attract cost-conscious traders, online broker AMarkets has announced a significant, temporary reduction in its commission fees for cryptocurrency trading. Effective immediately, the broker has cut its fees by two-thirds, from 0.12% to 0.04% per trade.

The reduced rate is part of a “special offer” and is set to remain in effect until Sept. 30, 2025, according to a company statement. The reduction applies to all cryptocurrencies offered on the platform.

Upcoming Symbol Changes for Commodities and Indices

In a separate operational update, the broker also notified clients of upcoming changes to its trading symbols. On Sept. 27, 2025, the symbols for all instruments within the “Commodities” and “Indices” groups will be updated across all account types, including both live and demo accounts on the MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 platforms.

The company clarified that the changes are purely technical and part of its “ongoing efforts to improve the quality of service.” The update will simplify symbol names, for example, S&P500.spot will become S&P500.

Crucially, AMarkets assured clients that all open positions for these instruments will be automatically migrated to the new symbols and will remain unaffected. Trading activity and account balances will not be disrupted by the change. The update applies exclusively to Commodities and Indices, with no changes planned for other asset groups.

The broker did issue a specific advisory for clients using automated trading systems. Any Expert Advisors that are hardcoded to reference the old symbol names (e.g., S&P500.spot) will need to be reconfigured to attach to charts using the new symbols (e.g., S&P500). AMarkets recommended that traders make these adjustments over the weekend after the update is complete but before markets open for the following trading week.
