Instant Funding Returns to MetaTrader 5 After a Year of Absence
MetaTrader 5 continues to affirm its dominance among prop firms, as Instant Funding becomes the latest company to return to the platform following MetaQuotes’ changes. With its own main label license, Instant Funding is bringing MT5 back to its traders, marking a broader trend of firms reintegrating the popular platform.
Instant Funding Brings Back MT5
The firm confirmed that it has successfully completed rigorous testing of the MT5 integration to ensure seamless functionality for traders.
“Instant Funding’s server is now live on the MT5 app. We’ve conducted all necessary tests, and traders can now execute their strategies directly through the platform,” the company stated.
Before the MetaQuotes licensing changes, Instant Funding accessed MT5 via its broker partner, ThinkMarkets. However, as part of the industry-wide shake-up, the firm had to migrate to DXtrade and later introduced cTrader to maintain access to advanced trading tools.
The Growing Popularity of MetaTrader 5
Despite the increasing adoption of platforms like cTrader, DXtrade, and TradeLocker, data indicates that MetaTrader remains the go-to platform for many traders. This has prompted several firms to reconsider their stance and reintegrate MT5 into their offerings.
Last month, MyFundedFX announced its transition back to MT5 through a partnership with Seacrest Markets, mirroring Instant Funding’s strategy. Similarly, TradersWithEdge made a similar move, reinforcing the continued relevance of the MetaQuotes ecosystem.
MetaQuotes’ New Approach to Prop Firms
While MetaQuotes had previously distanced itself from prop firms by restricting license access, the company now appears to recognize their value. However, this shift comes at a cost—MetaQuotes recently increased its licensing fees by 25%, citing rising operational expenses.
A statement from the company read, “Our commitment to delivering high-quality services has led to an increase in operating costs, necessitating this price update.”
As the industry adapts, it remains clear that while competition has expanded, MetaTrader 5 retains its dominance among traders seeking a robust and feature-rich platform.
MetaQuotes may have raised costs, but the return of major firms proves that MT5 remains the platform of choice for serious traders. Instant Funding is not the first—and likely won’t be the last—to make this strategic move.
