Fintokei Review: Challenges, Account Sizes, and Minimum Fees
Fintokei is a prop-trading-style education and evaluation company offering demo trading challenges with real performance rewards if traders meet the rules. It currently lists four programs: StartTrader, SwiftTrader, ProTrader, and ProTrader Swing. Fintokei states that it does not collect customer deposits, is not a broker, and that all trading accounts are virtual simulated accounts, not live market accounts.
Quick Verdict
Fintokei’s main advantage is variety: beginners can start with a smaller, slower 3-step challenge, while experienced traders can choose larger 2-step accounts or a faster 1-step route. The drawback is that each program has strict drawdown and risk rules, so the advertised “virtual capital” is not money you own or deposit; it is the size of the simulated account you trade under Fintokei’s rules.
1. StartTrader — Beginner 3-step challenge
StartTrader is Fintokei’s entry-level program. It uses a 3-phase structure with profit targets of 2%, 3%, and 6%, a consistency rule where no more than 40% of the profit target can come from one day, a -3% daily loss limit, -6% maximum loss limit, and -3% maximum allowed risk on open trades. Performance reward is listed as 50–100%.
| StartTrader account size | Minimum one-time fee |
|---|---|
| $5,000 | $44 |
| $20,000 | $119 |
| $50,000 | $244 |
| $100,000 | $419 |
Minimum needed to start StartTrader: $44 for the $5,000 account.
2. SwiftTrader — Fast 1-step challenge
SwiftTrader is the faster route. It has a 10% profit target, minimum 5 trading days, unlimited maximum time, -3% daily loss limit, -6% maximum loss limit, -3% max risk on open trades, and a +3% minimum profit per payout. Performance reward is listed as 100%.
| SwiftTrader account size | Minimum one-time fee |
|---|---|
| $10,000 | $119 |
| $20,000 | $179 |
| $50,000 | $369 |
| $100,000 | $599 |
| $200,000 | $1,299 |
Minimum needed to start SwiftTrader: $119 for the $10,000 account.
3. ProTrader — Standard 2-step challenge
ProTrader is Fintokei’s larger, more “pro” evaluation. It has two phases with profit targets of 8% and 6%, minimum 3 trading days, unlimited maximum time, -5% daily loss limit, -10% maximum loss limit, -3% maximum allowed risk on open trades, and an initial performance reward of 80%.
| ProTrader account size | Minimum one-time fee |
|---|---|
| $5,000 | $49 |
| $10,000 | $99 |
| $20,000 | $159 |
| $50,000 | $319 |
| $100,000 | $529 |
| $200,000 | $1,149 |
| $400,000 | $2,399 |
Minimum needed to start ProTrader: $49 for the $5,000 account.
4. ProTrader Swing — Swing-trading 2-step challenge
ProTrader Swing is designed for traders who hold positions longer. Fintokei currently lists a $50,000 ProTrader Swing account with the same 8% / 6% profit target structure as ProTrader, a -5% balance-based daily loss limit, -10% maximum loss limit, -3% maximum allowed risk on open trades, and 80% initial performance reward. Its key difference is that the daily loss limit is calculated from closed-trade balance rather than open-trade equity.
| ProTrader Swing account size | Minimum one-time fee |
|---|---|
| $50,000 | $319 |
Minimum needed to start ProTrader Swing: $319 for the $50,000 account.
Overall Minimum Costs by Program
| Program | Challenge style | Smallest listed account | Minimum one-time fee |
|---|---|---|---|
| StartTrader | 3-step beginner challenge | $5,000 | $44 |
| SwiftTrader | 1-step fast challenge | $10,000 | $119 |
| ProTrader | 2-step standard challenge | $5,000 | $49 |
| ProTrader Swing | 2-step swing challenge | $50,000 | $319 |
Important Safety Notes
Fintokei states it only accepts adults over 18 and ccounts are simulated and that trades are not executed in the real market.
The “minimum amount needed” is not a trading deposit. It is the one-time challenge fee. Fintokei’s support page says the one-time fee is the cost and that there are no hidden monthly fees.
Final Review
Fintokei looks best suited for people comparing prop-style evaluation models rather than people expecting a normal broker account. Its pricing starts low with StartTrader, but the larger ProTrader accounts become expensive quickly. The clearest strengths are multiple challenge types, listed rules, support for TradingView/MT5/cTrader, and different account sizes. The main weaknesses are strict loss/risk rules, simulated trading limitations, and the fact that the challenge fee can be lost if the evaluation fails.
For pure lowest cost, StartTrader $5,000 at $44 is the cheapest listed option. For the largest account, ProTrader $400,000 at $2,399 is the highest listed account and fee. For fast payouts, Fintokei positions SwiftTrader as the fastest route, while ProTrader Swing is the specialized option for longer holding periods.
