International brokerage firm VT Markets has announced the acquisition of a Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA) Category 5 license, a key regulatory milestone for its newly established Dubai branch. The license, numbered 20200000299, permits the company to conduct introduction and promotional activities within the United Arab Emirates.

The SCA serves as the federal financial regulatory body in the UAE, overseeing market transparency and investor protection. The Category 5 license enables VT Markets Dubai to formally introduce and promote its services to clients in the region under the oversight of the local authority.

The establishment of a regulated presence in Dubai allows VT Markets to strengthen its engagement in the Middle Eastern market while aligning with the UAE’s framework for financial services governance. The company has indicated plans to pursue additional licenses in other strategic regions.

VT Markets Named Among Blocked Entities by CONSOB

Notably, in May, Italy’s financial regulatory authority, CONSOB, issued orders to block access to 11 additional websites for allegedly offering financial and cryptocurrency-related services without proper authorization. The list of blocked entities included VT Markets Limited.

The move was part of the regulator’s ongoing campaign to clamp down on abusive financial practices within its jurisdiction. According to the announcement, at the time, seven of the targeted websites were offering investment services without a license, while the remaining four were illegally providing access to crypto-related products for Italian users.
